It is approved Trizepatide as an adjunct therapy, in combination with diet and exercise, for improving glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

What Are the Adverse Effects of Tirzepatide?

Some common adverse effects are:

  • Nausea.

  • Diarrhea.

  • Vomiting.

  • Abdominal discomfort.

  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels).

  • Injection site reactions like itchiness, redness, or swelling.

  • Undesired weight loss.

  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas-rare).

Tirzepatide contains a boxed warning due to its increased cancer risk, hypersensitivity reactions, hypoglycemia, and medullary thyroid carcinoma.
