Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 36-year-old female, having dull abdominal pain, acid reflux, and slight yellowing of eyes. My bilirubin level is 1.3 mg/dL, AST 17 U/L and ALT 32 U/L. I use to drink heavily in my 20's. For the past two months, I did not drink anything. I am having acid reflux for 10 years on and off. Kindly help me with what it could be.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. Bilirubin, and AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALT (alanine transaminase) are normal. The liver is okay till now. For acid reflux, you need to improve your lifestyle and do regular exercise and meditation, and yoga. Avoid oily and spicy foods. Can Use PPI (proton pump inhibitors) for the time being. I suggest using a capsule of Pantoprazole (Pantoprazole sodium)) + Domperidone (Domperidone maleate) 40 mg once daily before breakfast. For further evaluation of the liver, an ultrasound of the abdomen can be done. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response. You think my liver is ok? What do you think is cause of pain in right side abdomen?

Answered by Dr. Jagdish Singh

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, liver looks good with report. This pain is mostly due to hyperacidity and reflux only. So follow above instructions and see.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response. What about the yellow in the eyes? Is that from acid reflux? Is my liver stressed. Would it be wise to do a liver detox as well?

Answered by Dr. Jagdish Singh

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yellow of eye is not due to liver if bilirubin is normal. No such therapy (liver detox) available in allopathy. As we discussed we can plan for ultrasound abdomen to see current status of liver. Feel free to contact back for further queries.

Thank you.
