Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a female and weigh 128 pounds. I have pain in my upper abdomen from under my breast to my belly button. Sometimes it sends a sharp pain in my upper back. I am nauseated and feel hungry even though I just ate. A few weeks ago, I was hurt, and they prescribed me Ibuprofen 800 mg. Then recently, I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and they prescribed me 600 mg of Ibuprofen. I have taken over-the-counter antacids and even milk of magnesia, and it provided temporary relief. I am usually good with pain, but this is pretty bad. What should I do?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

It is most likely an acidity and gastritis. You should not take Ibuprofen for this problem as it will increase your gastritis. You should avoid a fatty, oily, and spicy diet. Have some walks after having food instead of taking a rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Have regular sleep habits and avoid stress. Take lots of green leafy vegetables and fruits. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.

My advice:

Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications after their consent.

  1. You can take a tablet of P Pan DSR (Domperidone and Pantoprazole) 40 mg or Esomeprazole and Domperidone combination before breakfast once a day for two weeks.
  2. If not adequately relieved, you should add syrup Sucral O (Sucralfate and Oxetacaine / Oxethazaine) or Gelusil (Aluminium hydroxide, Dimethicone, and Magnesium hydroxide) two teaspoons three times a day for a week.
  3. For immediate pain relief, you can have an antispasmodic tablet, Dicyclomine 20, or Hyoscyamine 10 mg, whenever needed, up to three times a day.

Hope this helps you. Get back if you have any doubts.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
