Hi doctor,

I am a 23-year-old male. I had a root canal treatment two years back. I am getting blisters near that tooth frequently, which is painful. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. A blister is a pus-filled sac called an abscess. It indicates the presence of infection around the root of the corresponding tooth. It can be due to the following causes:

1. Incomplete root canal treatment (RCT).

2. Persistent periapical lesions after RCT.

3. Secondary caries after RCT.

I suggest you take an IOPAR (intra-oral periapical radiograph) for that tooth to determine the status of the tooth and the root canal treatment. I cannot prescribe drugs as you have not mentioned drug allergies. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
