Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Recently, I have had some acne under my chin and the upper part of my neck. What does this symptom show? I wonder can it has any relation with stopping masturbation which I have done in about three weeks. Also, I had unprotected sex with someone 10 days ago and I am scared of the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) sign.

Hi,Welcome to icliniq.com.

The erythematous papular eruptions you have on your facial area seem to be acne or folliculitis (attachment removed to protect patient identity). This is a superficial skin infection, commonly bacterial, and is extremely common irrespective of HIV status. It has no association with starting or stopping masturbation. For your unprotected sexual exposure get your HIV rapid combo test, if negative you will require repeat testing at three months and preferably at six months of exposure also. I also advise you to have safe sex using consistent and correct condoms in the future.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
