Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have acne on my face. It joins to form big deposits that leak if irritated. The acne reduces when I take capsule Risek (Omeprazole 20 mg) but they always form again and leave scarring on my face. I have tried to treat these spots with creams. They only remove the acne for some time, but it always comes back. I also have acne on my head where it forms painful pimples that also store pus. I have tried creams in the past that did not seem to work out. I am currently not taking any medication. Please help me out.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query in detail and will surely help you out. Basically you are suffering from acne which have got infected with bacteria leading to pus formation.

Firstly, we need to cure the infection and then go for acne treatment. Now to treat the infection, I suggest taking the following medications.

1. Tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin 500 mg and Potassium clavulanate 125 mg) thrice daily for seven days.

2. Local application of Fucibet cream (Fusidic acid 2% and Betamethasone 0.1%) on affected area twice daily.

After a week when the infection gets cured, I suggest starting the following treatment for acne.

1. 2.5% Benzoyl peroxide gel 20 gm thrice daily.

2. Acne-UV gel apply thrice daily.

Apart from this, avoid oily food as oily food worsens pimple formation.

Hope this helps. Kindly revert in case of further queries.
