Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 35-year-old female with a weight of 143 pounds and a height of 5 feet 4 inches. I need some help understanding the results of my blood exams. I had been experiencing symptoms of weakness in the past few weeks, but I work a lot, and it is summer, so I assumed there was nothing wrong. Last week, I was in a subtropical country for a presentation, where I had a persistent fainting episode, which prompted me to get blood tests. Afterward, I had to travel back to my home country, and I did not receive a medical explanation for all those codes. They advised me to consult a doctor for these results. I tried searching on internet for these codes, and it seems like it might be anemia. Please give your opinion.

Hello,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I have reviewed the attached reports (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). Yes, you are experiencing mild anemia. This condition can lead to a decrease in the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity, resulting in weakness. If you have a history of bleeding from your body, please provide that information. Further evaluation should include the following:

  1. Serum ferritin.
  2. TIBC (total iron-binding capacity).
  3. Stool occult blood test.

For anemia, I suggest you take ferrous ascorbate tablets. If fainting episodes persist, it is advisable to estimate your serum blood glucose levels and check your blood pressure. If you are experiencing symptoms resembling a cold or congestion, there might be a possibility of an ear infection. Consult a physician for an examination and a discussion of these findings.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
