Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The pain must be moderate, as you have not mentioned detailed history, which is very important in your case. If there is any swelling and a history of injury, you might have sprained and cracked your bone in the worst scenario cracked your bone. If it is a simple pain after a fall, then do not worry. I suggest taking pain-reducing NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and rest your ankle for at least a week with a crape bandage. Find out which one you have. The treatment will be effective if diagnosed early. I hope I have cleared your doubts.

Thank you.

The Probable causes

Fall from stairs or simple fall.

Investigations to be done

X-ray of the affected ankle.

Probable diagnosis

Ankle sprain or fracture.

Treatment plan

NSAIDS for pain and to reduce swelling, crape bandage, rest to affected ankle for at least a week if sprain, and cast if the fracture is present.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
