Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been panicking for no reason for the past two years and underwent therapy sessions. I panic because of extreme fear of losing control, sickness, and death, low blood sugar, low blood pressure. I eat my meals regularly, but, I feel like I have not eaten food for the whole day. But, I do not feel hungry and I am just feeling weak. The panics occur on and off throughout the day and sometimes I get panic when I wake up and when I take my breakfast late in the morning. I honestly feel like I am suffering from OCD. I tried to increase the sweetness and salt in my diet but there was no change. I am not taking any medicines and feel mild dizzy, dry throat feeling as if there is a ball in my throat, a fast heartbeat with the feeling of a stone in my chest extreme fear, stress, chills, and shaking. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

All the symptoms mentioned by you like feeling weak, fear of losing control, sickness, death fear, low blood pressure, and blood sugar levels seem to be due to anxiety. You can be suffering from anxiety. Changing salt and sugar levels in your food will not help you to get relief from this problem. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned suggestions:

  1. Consume regular meals.
  2. Regularly visit your physician and he can adjust the dose of medications if needed, as it is a condition that needs evaluation and proper management according to the diagnosis made by a physician.
  3. Please ask for PCP (Phencyclidine) when referred to a psychiatrist, and he will prescribe the medication accordingly.
  4. Timely follow-ups are important even when you are not feeling good after taking medicines for anxiety. Anti-anxiety medications take time to have improvement in your condition.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply,

I am concerned that the medications would affect my health. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Glad to have you back on icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I want to add that we follow a set of medical criteria to rule out any disease. Diagnosis of a particular can be confirmed with screening tests. Positive results mark the presence of disease and negative results rule out the disease. Your concern can be diagnosed in the same way, and that would not affect your health condition.

I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Rule out diabetes with the help of your physician as many symptoms overlap.
  2. Keep yourself busy in a fixed schedule of rewarding and fruitful routines.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
