Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am around 22-year-old with severe back pain, for which I have been taking Ibuprofen. What could be the reason? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

1. Avoid lifting heavy weights.

2. Avoid bending your back; instead, bend your knees to pick something from the floor.

3. Avoid sitting for long hours.

4. Avoid motorcycle rides.

5. Improve your posture while sitting.

6. Try to get up from your chair every 20 minutes, take a quick walk around, and then continue working with back support.

7. Do not suddenly get up from a sleeping position; instead, turn to the side and get up.

8. Take bed rest if there is severe pain.

9. Do hot fomentations over the affected area twice daily.

10. Apply Oxalin (Diclofenac, Methyl Salicylate and Menthol) gel twice daily.

I would suggest the following medicines:

  1. Tablet Pregabalin 75 mg once daily at night before food for ten days.
  2. Tablet Ibupropfen 400 mg twice daily after food.
  3. Tablet Rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily before food.
  4. Tablet Shelcal (Vitamin D3 and Calcium) 500 mg twice daily before food for 30 days.
  5. Tablet Vitamin D 60 K units, once daily for ten days and then once a month for 11 months.
  6. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent. Take these tablets only if you are not allergic to them and do not have bronchial asthma. I would also suggest doing exercises like McKenzie, back core strengthening, and gluten strengthening exercises. Again, these exercises can be initially done under the supervision of a physiotherapist. I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
