Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from irritability for more than one month. I also have muscle and joint aches and stiffness throughout my body, sometimes getting worse. I am on an emotional roller coaster because of this condition.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Considering your symptoms, the pain and irritability may be due to several reasons. Joint and muscle pain all over the body is usually fibromyalgia, but given that it is a diagnosis of exclusion, we need to rule out other severe conditions like polymyositis.

Chronic pain can cause irritability like you seem to be suffering from. It would be helpful if we take this in a stepwise manner, ruling out conditions one by one. For this purpose, you need to give me more details of your symptoms.

1. Does your pain worsen after rest or with activity?

2. Does it feel like it is hard to get out of a chair?

3. Do you have any history of autoimmune disease or a family history of such conditions?

4. Are there any nodules or plaques on your hands or a rash on your face?

Please answer all these questions and follow up.

Thank you.
