Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had a boil on my buttocks for the last two days. Since yesterday, it has been draining pus and is painful. What do I need to do?

Kindly advise.

Answered by Dr. Nagaraj

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and would be happy to help. If there is a pus discharge, the only way to deal with it is to drain the pus out, clean and dress the wound, and start antibiotics. I suggest you to visit the nearest hospital and get it done at the earliest. Also, was there a sore or pimple in the area which you pricked leading to this wound, or has it started by itself?

Kindly revert with answers to the above questions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

The wound has started by itself.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Alright. I suggest you check your blood sugar levels to ensure that you are not dealing with high sugar levels that could have led to this, as it can be the cause in a few people.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further questions.

Take Care.
