Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am in a European country and the healthcare here is awful so I am going online for help. I think I have a UTI because I have had them in the past, but I also have soreness, burning, pain, some itching, and discharge. I think it might be a yeast infection, but I am not sure what color the discharge is for that. Mine is light but with a yellowish tint and it is thick. Can you please tell me if that sounds like a yeast infection? It is also pretty much odorless, but yesterday I had a thin fishy smelling discharge and now that is gone. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It could be bacterial vaginosis along with candidiasis. Take lots of fluids and cranberry juice for UTI. Maintain strict local hygiene and use soft cotton undergarments. Use condoms to avoid transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Have complete check and treatment of any health issue you have. Have one vaginal swab to clearly know the causative organism. Have Canestein pessary at bedtime on two alternate nights to flow away infection. I suggest you take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg 12 hourly and a tablet of Metronidazole 400 mg eight hourly for seven days. Take a tablet of Postan eight hourly in case of pain. You can take a sitz bath.

Thank you.
