Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have burned myself with boiling sugar and kept it in water, but it is unbearable, and I have no idea what to do.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I am sorry to hear that you have burned yourself with boiling sugar. Burns can be quite painful and range from mild to severe. Here are some immediate steps you can take to help alleviate the pain and promote healing:

1. Hold the affected area under cold running water for at least ten minutes to help cool the burn and alleviate pain. Alternatively, you can immerse the burned area in a bowl of cool water.

2. Remove any clothing or jewelry. If the burned area is covered by clothing or jewelry, carefully remove it to prevent further damage to the skin.

3. Cover the burn. Once the burned area has cooled, cover it with a sterile gauze or clean cloth to help protect it from infection.

4. Take pain relievers. Over-the-counter pain relievers like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can help alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.

If you want a prescription, do contact me.

I hope this information will help.

Thank you.
