Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Five years ago, my friend was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B infection. He was asymptomatic, and his laboratory results showed normal liver enzymes and LFT. Also, his abdominal ultrasound was normal. He is married, and his wife was vaccinated for hepatitis B three years ago. Is there a risk of transmission to his wife? If so, how can it be prevented?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and would be happy to help.

Yes, hepatitis B can be transmitted by unprotected vaginal intercourse or oral sex. The use of a condom during intercourse can prevent transmission. I suggest he uses tablet Liv 52 (caparis spinosa and chicorium intybus) or capsule Amylcure DS (kutaki and revand) twice daily for three months. It is a herbal medicine and very effective in treating hepatitis B.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
