Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have had sinusitis problems for a very long time, and recently I had tooth decay as well. The doctor I consulted earlier suggested root canal treatment, but I have yet to go for that.
My problem right now is that I have a blocked nose, mild inner ear pain, a sore throat, and sometimes a cough. No fever. I have had this for the past three to four months. Because of COVID-19, I did not go to any doctor, hospital physically to avoid undue exposure.
I have been trying out home remedies, but no use. About two weeks back, I also developed mild eye pain, itching, and irritation. I feel my eyelids to be heavy and swollen, but this is not visible to the naked eye that much.
I work about 15 to 16 hours a day on a computer with four to five hours of sleep. So it might be because of this as well. But I do not know. No redness in the eyes. When I blink sometimes, I feel mild pain.
I feel that because of tooth decay, my problem is aggravated. The bacterial decay goes down my throat and causes an infection in my throat. That is what I think, but not sure.
Please suggest medications to control a blocked nose, ear pain, eye problems, sore throat, and sometimes a cough. I have not traveled anywhere in the last six months, and I have been working from home for the last six months to give you a background.
I also have a history of epilepsy, although I am not taking medications for that now.
Please suggest.

Hi doctor,
Thank you for your response. I need your suggestion on:
Please suggest.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I think your eye itching, irritation, and eyelid swelling may result from allergies and eye strains due to spending more time on a computer screen, with a lack of proper sleep.
As I have already mentioned, some medications for controlling allergy, no eye drops may be needed. Proper sleep and less time on the computer screen will rest your eyes and help relieve your eye pain.
You can use Ciplox (Ciprofloxacin) ear drops, one to two drops in each ear twice daily, for your ear pain.
You can gargle with a salt mixture with lukewarm water three to four times daily for your sore throat and steam inhalation mixed with Menthol three to four times daily for sinusitis.
I hope you find this helpful.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you.
Tablet Vimovo is not available in my place. Please suggest an alternative.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can take the capsule Arthopan (500/20) instead of using Vimovo. Or you can take any brand that contains both Esomeprazole and Naproxen.
Or you can take plain Naproxen with any anti-ulcerant medications.
You can take Arthopan, which contains both Naproxen and Pantoprazole, for 10 days.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you.
I had a fungal skin infection. The doctor said it is because of too many antibiotics. Can you also suggest a probiotic supplement along with these medications?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can take the probiotics capsules.
For your fungal infection, you can take the tablet Tebina (Terbinafine) 250 mg after lunch for four to six weeks, and Terbinaforce-Plus cream.
Apply locally to your affected area until fully healed.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
