Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am experiencing extreme sensitivity in my clitoris. Just my pants/underwear touching it is bothering me right now. I would not describe this as an itch, it is just sensitive. Also, it may appear that it is swollen, and when I pinch it I feel a ball inside of it. Perhaps it was always there and I am just noticing it or perhaps it has to do with the sensitivity? There is no burning when urinating or anything like that. I have been sexually active with the same partner for five years, so I really do not think it is an STD. I do not take medications besides some fat burning pill for the last four months.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It would be better if you could send me a picture of the lesion. It could be some pelvic infection or a sign of a sexually transmitted infection or local inflammation such as abscess as you feel some ball appearance.

1. Temporarily sit in warm water to relieve pain.

2. Have strict local hygiene.

3. Use soft cotton comfortable undergarments.

4. Use condoms for some time to reduce infection transmission.

5. Do not use any cosmetic or any kind of product locally. Just use clean water.

6. Have vaginal swab and local swab to check for infective organisms.

After swab, I suggest tablet Ponstan (Mefenamic acid) 500 mg eighth hourly as per need. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. Have tablet Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and tablet Metronidazole 400 mg thrice daily for seven days. If you feel the lesion is still there but reduced in size you can have a 10 to 14-day course. But if no difference on the seventh day, then it would be better to have a local examination with a specialist or pelvic infections control doctor. You might need local drainage or abscess removal.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
