Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am suffering from prolonged constipation since childhood. Now I am 26. I am afraid of getting hemorrhoids due to this. I have tried everything starting from warm water to Eno, Digene, milk of magnesia and Isabgol. Now, all these do not work effectively on me. My diet is also normal. I do not eat junk food much.
Please help me.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
You have been using milk of magnesia for a long time, which is not advisable, as it can lead to laxative abuse and dependency.
As your constipation is present for a long time, the organic cause should be ruled out, if present. For this, an abdominal ultrasound (USG) should be performed. If needed, colonoscopy can also be planned.
Regular exercise, fruits, and healthy food with drinking lots of water, will be helpful in maintaining gastrointestinal health.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help later.
Thank you.
