Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am suffering from prolonged constipation almost from childhood. Now I am 26. I am afraid of getting hemorrhoids due to this. I have tried everything starting from warm water to Eno, Digene, milk of magnesia and Isabgol. Now, all these do not work effectively on me. My diet is also normal. I do not eat junk food much.

Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are using milk of magnesia since a long time which is not advisable as it can lead to laxative abuse and dependency.

As your constipation is present since a long time, the organic cause should be ruled out, if present. For this, USG abdomen scan should be done. If needed, colonoscopy also can be planned.

Regular exercise, fruits, and healthy food with drinking lots of water will be helpful in maintaining gastrointestinal health.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you want some help later.

Thank you.
