Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had non-protective sex with my partner, and I ejaculated outside, and after sex, she took a contraceptive pill. There was a delay in her first period, but after that, she had no periods for two months. In the ultrasound report, everything is normal. There is no pregnancy, only abdominal fluid is present, for that doctor had given the medicine. But she also has abdominal swelling, and now I am worried about her pregnancy. Please help.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Chances of being pregnant are less likely after emergency pills. The swelling of the abdomen may be due to bloating and acid-peptic problems. The delay in periods may be due to anemia, thyroid problems, urinary tract infection or pelvic floor response. Kindly do the following tests:

  1. Thyroid profile test.
  2. Hemoglobin level and peripheral smear study.
  3. Pap smear of vaginal discharge for microbiology and others like cervicitis.
  4. Urine routine and culture test.
  5. Fasting and postprandial blood sugar levels.
  6. Beta HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels of blood.

I hope this information will help.

Thank you.
