Hello doctor,

My brother has done his annual health checkup and received the lab reports. I am attaching all the reports. Could you please review the reports and let me know whether we should worry about anything, especially creatinine or diabetes?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the reports sent by you (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Does he have any complaints? Is he hypertensive? Any past history of surgery or medicines, etc? Any history of renal diseases in family members (parents or siblings)? All his reports are fine except for creatinine. We need to find the reason for it.

Hello doctor,

He has no complaints. He does not have hypertension. He is not taking any medicines. Our paternal grandmother has undergone dialysis. Please give your valuable advice.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I think he presently needs an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis to check for the kidney status and swellings on kidneys which is called hydronephrosis or hydroureter. It is better to repeat only serum creatinine at another lab (to reconfirm the value) as I am surprised that only the creatinine value is raised and all the other reports including urine reports are normal. If there is any problem there should be some abnormality in the urine report also which is not present. So, it is better to reconfirm the creatinine value in a different lab. And, get the ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis done. Depending on the above reports, we can decide the further plan.
