Should we consider getting CT images of the brain when my father was unconscious due to high blood pressure?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My father got his first-time high blood pressure. He was found lying on the ground, sleeping and snoring, but he did not wake up. He got rushed to the hospital right now, and the doctor said that he needed a CT scan because the control of his breathing affected the side of his brain. What to do? I am so scared it was so sudden.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I think it is time for your father to get tested. In this way, we can find out what his real problem is.

The suggested tests are:

1. Complete blood count.

2. A basic biochemistry panel.

3. Lipid profile test.

4. Diabetes tests.

5. EKG (electrocardiogram) and echocardiogram.

6. Chest X-ray.

7. Monitoring his blood pressure.

8. CT (computed tomography) scan as requested by his physician.

After analyzing the results, we can determine the right diagnosis and best treatment strategy. I wish him fast recovery.

I hope this helps.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
