Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from severe dandruff and the presence of deep dark spots due to pimples. Previously I have used prescribed shampoo and tablets that gave me the best results. But even when I am using the shampoo containing Ketoconazole it is not working and the dark spots due to pimples are increasing. Kindly help me.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I saw all the details you shared and will be happy to guide you through.

I suggest you follow the below-mentioned precautions as pimples can occur due to hormonal imbalances and due to oily skin.

  1. Do not use hair oil and any sticky cream on the face.
  2. Avoid oily food, chocolate, and milk products.
  3. Cover yourself from dust and apply sunscreen (above 30 SPF).
  4. Do not rub any cream on the face.
  5. Avoid using steroid creams.
  6. Continue treatment at least for a month.
  7. Facewash or soap is not regarded as the final treatment.
  8. Do not touch acne and avoid pressing it.
    1. Gel Clinton or Faceclin or Clear gel (Clindamycin) - Use all over the face in the morning as it is preventive and curative.
    2. Gel Adalene or Differin (Adapalene) - Apply it over acne at night.
    3. Tab Doxycycline 100 milligrams once a day.
    4. Shampoo Salisia KT (Ketoconazole and Salicyclic Acid) - Use it twice weekly and keep it applied for 15 minutes for itchy scalp and dandruff.
    5. Tablet Nizral (Ketoconazole) 200 milligrams once daily for 28 days.
    6. Cream Kz (Ketoconazole) - Apply once in the morning over the affected part of face and body for itch and dryness.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
