Why do I have dark circles after a warm compress?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had an eye problem for which I was asked to do a warm compress around the eyes. As a result, I am suffering from dark circles, fine lines, and aging spots. Please suggest any relevant medication.

Also, I don't understand my skin's structure. It is too dry in the winter and too oily in the summer.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand that there has been damage to the skin. White spots on the right side of the right side are called miliaria crystallina. In simple terms, it is the enlargement and plugging of the sweat glands.

You will need to go to a dermatologist to have a needle removed to remove the plugs or blockages. Then it will be fine. It is a very small procedure that takes about 15 minutes for me and is not painful. Another issue is that the skin quality is different for different parts of the face.

Trust me, 90 percent of people have this problem, and you are no different. Acne is a result of that, nothing else. With daily travel, dust, and other environmental factors, this problem becomes bigger.

You should just use a good, gentle face cleanser. In your case, I recommend cleansing foam from any good brand. Just apply it to a wet face and wash away. Do not rub or do anything else.

The majority of aging problems are caused by skin damage. Damage makes the skin look old and tired. I recommend using a Hyaluronic acid-containing undereye cream at night. If you cannot find it, you can use any antiaging facial cream instead. Apply it gently under the eyes and let it stay overnight. It should improve in quality very soon.

The skin of the face is oily near the nose and forehead, and the cheeks and sides of the face are dry. Keep this in mind next time you wash your face. It is very important that you use a good sunscreen.

If the face is oily, then I recommend water-phased facial sunscreen, and if it is normal, then any sunscreen gel with SPF (sun protection factor) 50 (this might be a little oily, but for normal skin, it is absolutely fine). Use it every day after a shower and 20 minutes before going outdoors. It will prevent any sun damage that can make the skin look old.

The rest seems fine. I have other solutions for under eyes, too, but they are more expensive. So, first, improve the quality of the skin. It will make a lot of difference.

I hope this has helped you.

You can get back to us if you have any questions.

Thank you.
