Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I got married a year ago, but I have not conceived yet. I am ready for everything like a biopsy, HSG, ovulation, and an ultrasound. Please tell me what I can do next and how I can conceive fastly.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

It would be better if you send me your detailed gynecological, medical, surgical, obstetrical, and drug history.

Following are my suggestions for your problem:

  • You should have regular cycles. If not, I suggest you have oral contraceptive pills for two to three months to regulate the cycle.
  • I suggest you have sex in the fertile period of the cycle.
  • Have a tablet of folic acid 0.4 mg daily.
  • Have a complete check-up of any health issue. If you have any, take complete treatment.
  • Avoid the use of recreational drugs completely, as these reduce fertility and increase congenital abnormalities in the fetus. You and your partner both should avoid this.
  • Have a healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water.
  • Try to have a normal BMI (body mass index) and weight.
  • If you have been trying regularly and are unable to conceive, then you can have a transvaginal scan.
  • On day two of periods, have serum testosterone, serum progesterone, serum prolactin, serum insulin, FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), and thyroid function test.
  • Collect all laboratory results and discuss them here.

I hope you get my point.

Best of luck.
