Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I do not know whether I am suffering from PCOS or not. My periods got delayed for 45 days almost four times a year. Sometimes I get my periods on the 27th day of every month for three to four months and the next month for 45 days. I am trying to conceive, but I could not. This month also my period got delayed. Today is my period's second day, which was late when compared with my last month's period. Currently, I am having lower left abdomen pain along with lower left back pain and breast pain. Please answer my question. I am so worried about my health condition.

Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case and I understood your concern.

As per your description, there could be PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) or thyroid abnormality. In PCOS there are usually un-ovulatory cycles, which means no egg formation during the period cycle, and this is the reason for infertility in PCOS. But this can be easily managed with some precautions. We have to find out whether it is PCOS or not. So, I suggest you to take a USG (ultrasonogram) pelvis scan, thyroid profile, and CBC (complete blood count). So, according to the scan and profile reports, we can start further treatment.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
