Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25 years old, sexually active. I had sex with my partner a week ago and was due for my period. We used protection but I later discovered some semen on my dress, could the semen have accidentally entered my vagina and could cause a delay in my period. Also, the sex with my partner is usually painful I thought because his penis is quite larger than what I am used to. The sex is painful when he penetrates to the point where I end up not aroused by him. What could be the problem? Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case and I understand your concern. According to your description, you had intercourse on a safe day so there are very less chances of getting pregnant. Sometimes periods might get delayed by one or two weeks because of some stress or recent illness. Pain could occur while having intercourse when the pelvis muscle is stiff, you should keep yourself calm and relax your body while having intercourse. I suggest you practice Kegel exercises twice or thrice a day to relax your pelvic muscles. You can watch the exercise videos online. I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
