Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Is it normal for a dental bracket to get loose? It always happens on the same teeth. I always have 3-5 loose brackets. At certain times some of the brackets were already loosened before I get home from the dentist.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is common for a bracket to get loose in some particular tooth such first molars as they are the main tooth to hold the wire in the arch but occasionally and not so frequent. But as you are saying that you get 3-5 brackets loose or got loose even in such a short period of getting back home from the dentist's office, suggests that your dentist is applying too much tension in the wire resulting in spring action of the wire dislodging the brackets or he /she is using a below standard product to glue the bracket to the tooth. In any case, it is not your fault it is your dentist's fault.

I hope this helps. Keep in touch for further doubts.
