Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The lower teeth on the righthand side of the back of my mouth are hurting. I have severe pain in the gums also. I am not able to shake it. I am wondering why. Nothing seems to be working to help ease the pain.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Thank you for stopping by!

I am here to provide expert opinions on your medical issues.

You need to visit a nearby dentist to get your teeth cleaned and for a proper checkup. You would have hurt your gums due to food lodgement or brushing.

I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Maintain oral hygiene properly.
  2. Brush twice a day using soft bristles toothbrush.
  3. Do not chew on the painful side.
  4. Take an antibiotic like a capsule of Amoxicillin 500mg for three days and a painkiller like Paracetamol.
  5. Do not have spicy foods.
  6. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water.
  7. You can consume honey or apply it over the painful gum region.

Following these steps will subside your pain, but visiting a dentist is a must.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
