Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 29 year old female working as a banker in a rural area. I used to eat slate pencils. I stopped it for the last six months as I experienced nausea, vomiting and passing loose stools. Since then, my hemoglobin level dropped to 7%. If I eat outside food, I suffer from loose stools and indigestion. My colleagues also have food outside, but they are fine. Why is this happening to me? My weight is 42 and height 5'6". I got my thyroid test done, and the doctor said there are chances of hyperthyroidism. What should I do? Please advise me a diet chart.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

We are here to help you.

  • It does not look like a result of eating slate pencils. You either have hyperthyroidism or could be a result of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • This needs to be evaluated by a battery of tests including blood sugar, thyroid profile, stool test, anti-tTG antibody (anti-tissue transglutaminase) for celiac disease.
  • If your problem persists, then we would also consider the chance of lactose intolerance.
  • As far as diet is considered, eat everything you want, but should be homemade. Rest we would discuss once we have the reports.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am attaching my thyroid test and blood sugar reports. I have undergone these tests before a month. I hope this will help. I will get the remaining tests that you mentioned very soon.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have evaluated your reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

  • You should go for a repeat thyroid test as well as anti-tTG antibody as described. We can plan the treatment with the reports.
