Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from diarrhea for the past one year. I consulted a doctor, and I did an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and biopsy. I got to know about chronic ileitis and chronic duodenitis. The doctor gave me VSL#3, Doxil 100, and Folvite tablets. I am taking these medicines for 15 days. But I do not have any relief. I am worried. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the attachment (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You had done endoscopy and colonoscopy for diarrhea. If there are no features of inflammatory bowel disease and if the biopsy report does not show features of gluten enteropathy, then there can be a possibility of having irritable bowel syndrome. You do not have chronic diarrhea because chronic diarrhea is always associated with weight loss and malnutrition. I would suggest you take Rifaximin 200 mg twice daily and revert me after a week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
