Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been almost having liquid stool since early morning. It started as yellow to almost transparent and some flaky chunks have also been observed. Also, I tried to drink lots of water to replace my liquid loss. But due to my constant vomiting that has not been working out. Whenever I eat anything like congee, noodles, etc I just throw them up. I would like to know if there are any recommended medications or home remedies that can help me. I ate out yesterday and I suspect it was something inside my food that does not agree with me.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

You have an infection causing diarrhea. I suggest you take the following medicines:

  1. Take tablet Ofloxacin (anhydrous lactose, hydroxypropyl cellulose) 200 mg Ornidazole (5-nitroimidazole), twice daily for five days after food.

  2. Take a tablet of Pantoprazole (pantoprazole sodium) 40 mg, Domperidone 10 mg twice daily for five days before food,

  3. If you get a fever, then you should take, tablet Paracetamol 500 mg twice daily for two days after food, with the above medications.

Have lots of liquids. Drink lots of water and fresh lime juice. You should be good in one to two days after starting medicines. Take these tablets only if you are not allergic to them.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

    Thank you for consulting me.

You can always come back and reach me at icliniq.com.
