Hello doctor,
I had a miscarriage a month back, and since then, I have not been able to get pregnant since. Do you think I need to schedule a checkup with my primary doctor since I did not have a D and C?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
In my opinion, D and C (dilation and curettage) are not a must to get you pregnant. I believe that you are getting periods regularly after the miscarriage. So about the above findings, I would like to suggest you a few things:
1. Keep a planned relationship between the 9th to the 20th day of the period counting from the first day of your period or at least every alternate day during this time. This period is the most fertile period of the menstrual cycle.
2. I suggest you can start with a folic acid tablet of 5 mg per day until you conceive. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicines with their consent.
3. Try to reduce your weight by at least 22 lbs, as an ideal weight for your height would be 121 lbs. You can do exercises and diet to gradually reduce your weight which will help you in releasing a good fertilized egg (good quality egg).
4. Avoid getting stressed, as it will hamper your hormonal levels and, in turn, affect the egg quality.
Let nature decide the right time for you. Have patience.
Good luck.
