Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old female. My main concern is dysuria that started the previous night. I also had a history of kidney infection when I was young so I am extra cautious about UTIs.

I have had a relatively little intake of water this week. How can I treat this without going to the hospital for a urinalysis? Can you prescribe me something?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from dysuria.

Dysuria is painful or difficulty in micturition. It can be resulted from urinary tract infection (UTI), STD (sexually transmitted disease), Kidney stone, ovarian cyst, interstitial cystitis, vaginal infection, bladder cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, etc.

Treatment depends on causes.so we should undergo some investigations like urine routine, urine R/M/E, USG (ultrasound) of W/A, serum creatinine, urine for C/S to find out exact causes for your dysuria, and then treat them accordingly.

As an example, if causes are cystitis, pyelonephritis, or urethritis then they have resulted from bacterial indecision. So anti-bacterial medication should be needed.

Take plenty of water and do not hold urine. Take cranberry juice and citrus foods. You can take Cefixime 400 mg (twice daily for 14 days) and abstinence from sexual intercourse during antibiotics.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Can you provide me a prescription so I can now start the medication (Cefixime)? Or do I still need to undergo the tests?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is no option to prescribe hot chat line. If you seek my consultation through icliniq then there is a option to prescribe in consultation room and your prescription will be printed as well. It will be better for you to contact with icliniq team, they can help you in this matter.

You can take medications as follows:

Capsule Tergecef (Cefixime) 400 mg 1+0+1 for 14 days.

Tablet Visceralgine (Tiemonium) 1+1+1 (after meal) in case of abdominal pain.

Capsule Oprazid 30 mg 1+0+0 (before meal) for 15 days.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Just for clarification, do I need to take all of the medicines? Can I just use the Tergecef for dysuria? I am not experiencing abdominal pain. Also, can I start taking the medicines as soon as I purchase it? Like no more tests? I am just worried to take antibiotics without urinalysis.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As you have no abdominal pain, then just take Tergecef 400 mg twice daily. Other medications are not needed. Take Tergecef along with lots of fluid, do not hold your urine for a long time and abstain urself from any sexual activity. I think that is all to subside your dysuria.

If you want then you can undergo complete urinalysis and then you can start to take ur antibiotics.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
