Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have the following symptoms:

  1. Highly sore throat (six plus days).
  2. White marks lining.
  3. Swollen on the left side mostly.
  4. Red dots on the back of the throat.
  5. Left ear pain, plugged.
  6. Left nostril congested.
  7. Not much of any fever.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the files (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You are having granular pharyngitis like pharynx infection. For that, I suggest taking a decongestant like Phenylephrine or Levocetirizine 5 mg OD for five days. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent.

If pain is more, then Paracetamol 500 mg SOS can be had. Vitamin C 500 mg BD for five days can be taken. An antibiotic course can be had like Cefixime.

1. Salt water garglecan be done with warm water three times a day.

2. Drink more water.

3. Avoid excess spicy foods.

Ear pain could be a referred pain from a sore throat.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
