Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 32-year-old married man suffering from severe social anxiety since childhood, and now I experience facial sweating, which I cannot control, and it is starting to ruin my life. I have been taking tablets Zapiz and Nexito for the past one year. In addition, I am also meditating to overcome this anxiety and facial sweating. I feel life is hopeless for me.

Please help me overcome this.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. Anxiety can be debilitating in many ways and affects our life and daily activities. Your medications are fine, but have you considered therapy like cognitive behavioral therapy? Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is essentially counseling sessions in which you learn techniques to control the negative thought patterns and break the cycle of overthinking and anxious thoughts which cause these physical symptoms. Also, it would help if you work on limiting self-beliefs that make you feel nervous and anxious. CBT with medications is the ideal treatment to solve the issue related to anxiety for long-term effects. So I suggest you to continue the same medications and start CBT sessions. In addition, use relaxation techniques like meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, box breathing techniques, etc., to keep your stress levels down. Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this helps you. Kindly feel free to follow up if you have any questions or concerns.

Take care.
