I have throbbing eye pain since four years. Is there anyway to treat it?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My eye pain feels like throbbing. So I went to see a doctor, and all they told me was to wear my glasses, and this has been happening for four years now. I am not taking any medication. I am a 19-year-old male, 5’8 in height and weighing 127 kgs.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If your doctor is telling you to wear glasses, you should wear them if you have a significant refractive error. If you do not want to wear glasses, at least wear contacts or do LASIK (laser-assisted in situ kerato mileusis). Till that, start warm compresses on your eyes daily twice, and begin with eye drop Ocurest (Naphazoline 0.05 % w/v and Phenylephrine 0.12 % w/v) three times a day for 15 days if available at your place. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them and take medicines with their consent. Thank you.
