Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 56-year-old male who has been dealing with diabetes and hypertension for the past decade, and I have been taking metformin and metoprolol for these conditions. However, in the last two months, I have been experiencing troubling symptoms, including frequent, urgent urination, discomfort in the pelvic area and lower back, and difficulty in completely emptying my bladder. Given my existing health conditions, I am quite concerned about these symptoms and their potential impact on my overall well-being. Can you advise me on any immediate relief I can seek for these symptoms?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Based on your urinary symptoms and a history of hypertension and diabetes, it is possible that you may have developed a urinary tract infection, particularly in the presence of benign prostate hypertrophy. I suggest you take the following medications:

  1. Tablet Dutasteride 0.5mg, take orally once daily.
  2. Tablet Ketoconazole 200mg, take orally twice a day.
  3. Tablet Co-Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 625mg, take orally twice a day.
  4. Tablet Finerenone 10mg, take orally once daily.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you.
