Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am suffering from a fungal infection on my thighs and backside like red bumpy rings with itching for the last five months. A doctor suggested I take Candiforce 100 with Hicope 10 and Betamethasone for 15 days. But when the medicines are stopped, the infection starts again, so please suggest me a suitable treatment.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Fungal infection indeed is very problematic if it becomes recurrent.

First of all, you must keep these precautions in mind:

1. Do not keep the area wet at all. Use powder frequently to keep it dry.

2. Avoid itching and do not scratch it.

3. Change the undergarments daily.

4. Do not apply any general or steroid cream like Betnovate.

5. Do not stop the medicine once you are cured. Continue medicine for a long time to completely kill the fungal infection.

6. Avoid excessive sweating and wet clothes.

7. Check diabetes and thyroid if it is recurrent even after proper treatment.

Now for the treatment part, I suggest the following:

1. Ketoconazole cream and the tablet Terbinafine 250 mg for 2 months.

2. For itching take the tablet Levocetirizine 10 mg twice a day.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
