Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 33 year old male. After returning from a recent trip to a water park, I have noticed few black spots on my hips. These black spots are itchy, and also slightly painful. There are four to five such spots on my right hip, and one to two on the left side. I applied "Ring Guard" for three days, but the problem has not resolved much. There is also heavy dryness in the area. I am sending you all the relevant pics. Please, can you check the pictures, and let me know what has happened, and how can I treat it?

Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have noted your concern and I have viewed the images (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It seems like a fungal infection. I suggest you take an oral antifungal such as capsule Syntran 100 mg (Itraconazole) once daily for four weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent.

In addition to this, you may apply a topical antifungal like Luliconazole 1 % cream (Lulifin cream), twice daily. You may also take a tablet Cetirizine 10 mg once daily in the evening for symptomatic relief from itching.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
