Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently had a fasting blood sugar test which was 116 mg/dL, because I have been experiencing nausea after a couple of hours of not eating now, then did a three-month blood sugar test which they said was normal. I do not know precisely what the results were. However, I am still experiencing nausea and my belly gurgling and trapped wind. What is causing this, and due to coronavirus, I cannot get an appointment with the doctors.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It appears you have symptoms of gastritis as fasting blood sugar increases causing nausea. I would like to know any pre-existing medical conditions that you may have. Also would like to know about any medications that you are taking.

The Probable causes

The probable cause is reflux.

Investigations to be done

Do liver function test and thyroid function test.

Probable diagnosis

The probable diagnosis is gastritis.

Treatment plan

Avoid being on empty- stomach for prolonged periods. Have small frequent meals. Drink adequate fluids or water. Have 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily. If these measures do not provide significant help, an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy may be needed.

Preventive measures

Avoid late night snacking.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
