Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a depigmentation on my penis and scrotum for years (I think since I was born). I did not pay match attention to it. Also in the past few months, I have noticed two spots on the glans of the penis and that is what worries me the most. I do not know if those spots were there before and I do not know if they change the color or size. One is just on the top of the penis and the second also on the glans. The structure of the skin there is the same like on the other parts of the skin. The color of the spots is a bit darker than other parts of the penis.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please send a few more good quality photographs taken in natural light (attachment removed to protect patient identity). How long it has been there? What are the symptoms? Any other area affected? Any other family members affected? Any history of hypertension? Diabetes mellitus? Thyroid disorder? Any known drug reaction? Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have noticed it a few months ago but I think that it was there for years as a dark spot on the glans of the penis. No other areas are affected, and none of my family members are affected. I do not have hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or thyroid disorder, and no known drug reaction.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is going in favor of genital macular melanosis. It is a harmless structure and no treatment is suggested. In extremely rare cases, it carries chances of malignancy so if you are noticing any change then you need to report it to a dermatologist but again emphasizing it as a very rare phenomenon. If a cosmetic concern is there then it can be removed by Q switch laser or surgical excision. I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
