Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had high uric acid for a very long time. I often get pain in my feet and it continues for about a week. This time I have consistent pain in my right hand. I got an MRI done, which revealed synovitis. My Rh factor and anti-CCP (cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies) are normal. Please explain what condition I have.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

The condition you have is arthritis. Can you tell me if there is any other joint involved? In rheumatoid arthritis, multiple joints are affected and the tests can be negative sometimes. Whereas, in gout, only a single joint is affected.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

It is always just one joint. It was always feet previously, and this time it is hand (right hand). Can it be rheumatoid arthritis? My uric acid levels were 9.2 mg per dl in my last test. I took Febustat (Febuxostat) 80 for one month and still, it is 6.8 mg per dl.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is Gout. I suggest you take anti-inflammatory medicines like capsule Indocap SR (Indomethacin) or steroids like tablet Omnacortil (Prednisolone) 20 mg for one week and continue tablet Febutaz 80 (Febuxostat). Consult your physician and take the medicines accordingly.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Can I take Mobizox? Is it the same thing? I have also attached my liver and kidney function tests. My urea is 40 mg/dL. Can it be due to taking so much Diclofenac?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you take the tablet Mobizox (Chlorzoxazone) is a muscle relaxant. Your kidney and liver function tests are absolutely normal. Do not worry, a minimal fatty liver is fine at this age. I would suggest one week of tablet Prednisolone 20 mg along with tablet Goutnil (Colchicine) 0.5 mg twice a day for one week. Continue tablet Febutaz 80 (Febuxostat). Consult your physician and take medicines accordingly.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

My doctor gave me Colchicine 0. 5mg twice daily and Omnacortil 20 once daily. Will it reduce pain? Should I take anything else?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, take it for one week. It will subside.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
