Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am experiencing a gout flareup. My ankle is swollen, warm to the touch, and my big toe is in a lot of pain. What could it be?

Please help.

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing and I understand your concern.

I would suggest you repeat your uric acid test once, so we can get to know the severity of gout. For now, I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.

1, Take a tablet of Etoricoxib (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) 90 milligrams twice daily after meals for five days.

2. Take a tablet of Calcium and Vitamin D3 once daily at night for five days.

3. Do a blood test for uric acid.

4. Reduce your protein intake.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

Is Etoricoxib banned in some places?

Please help.

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If Etoricoxib is not available, you can take a tablet of Indomethacin (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) 50 milligrams twice daily for seven days after meals.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
