Patient's Query

Hello Doctor.

I have lots of hair fall and thin and pre-mature gray hair. Please suggest how to stop hair fall and graying of hair. How to regrow my lost hair?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Premature greying of hair and hair loss are caused by multiple factors. Most commonly, it occurs due to genetic factors where in case any of your parents and their blood relatives have premature greying of hair and FPHL (female pattern hair loss) it is most likely to be genetically transmitted. Other reasons include vitamin deficiencies, zinc and iron deficiencies, climatic factors, hormonal imbalances, dietary changes, and lifestyle factors including using of commercial oils, shampoos, hair smoothening or straightening products, and due to frequent coloring of hair with strong products. In the case of genetic factors, the chances of reversing grey hair are not a possibility, and use of natural coloring agents like henna may be used to conceal them in case of social insecurities. On the other hand, the other factors may be managed after blood investigations are done to rule out vitamin and mineral deficiencies and appropriate medications. I suggest Tablet Keraglo Eva (borage seed oil, N-acetylcysteine, iron, Niacin, Biotin, grape seed extract, green tea extract, Choline bitartrate, zinc, Inositol, copper, Folic acid, Selenium) once daily after food for 2 months at night. Ega scalp hair tonic (Biotin) may be used on your scalp. Apply and massage twice daily after cleaning and drying your scalp well. Blood tests: CBC (complete blood count), S. ferritin, S. Iron, S. Zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, and thyroid function tests should be carried out. These blood tests would help rule out any deficiencies following which the medications may be started. The blood tests should be taken before starting the above-mentioned tablet since they may show changes in the actual result. Avoid using hair dyes, and chemical products for changing hair texture. Make sure to have a balanced diet including fruits, and vegetables including green leafy vegetables. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) + mesotherapy procedures for scalp where plasma rich in platelets would be extracted from a small amount of blood drawn from your vein and injected superficially into your scalp every 15 days (if done along with mesotherapy which is vitamin injection done similar to PRP treatments) to one month and done in sessions of six. For the procedure, direct consultation with a dermatologist is advised. It will help with hair growth and reduce hair fall. Make sure to keep the scalp devoid of dandruff and dryness. Kindly review the results by follow up provided after seven days following which I may be able to suggest medications depending on the results. Hope I could be of help. Stay happy, healthy, and safe.
