Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had sexual activity with my partner on the last day of my period. We never had intercourse. But he did wipe the sperm off from his hand with a tissue and then put it inside of me. I started with my periods and my blood fills the entire pad. I am worried. Am I fine, should I take a pregnancy test?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your case and I understand your concern. If your periods are regular, and you had intercourse on the fifth day after that no intercourse happened then there is almost no chance of getting pregnant as that was your safe day. Sometimes during ovulation, some bleeding or spotting might occur which is normal. But if it is excessive then there could be another reason for this, sometimes periods might fluctuate by one or two weeks because of some stress or recent illness, so this bleeding could be menstrual bleeding. If this happens in subsequent cycles, I suggest you get an ultrasound pelvis scan and thyroid profile, to rule out the cause. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.
Thank you.
