Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 31 weeks pregnant. I had mild pain and a burning sensation near the anal region for two days. It was diagnosed as hemorrhoids. I had been given medications and Hadensa cream for application. Also, I am eating fiber-rich foods and drinking lots of fluids. Is vaginal delivery possible if the hemorrhoids do not subside till the due date? Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Hemorrhoids are lesions in the anal region and do not interfere with vaginal delivery. Also, first and second degree external hemorrhoids subside with proper bowel movements. However, I suggest you consult your gynecologist and a surgeon for further assistance. I also suggest you follow a high-fiber diet.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
