Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I cannot intake solid foods only liquids like chicken broth with no salt. I am throwing up food and acid. I have taken a tablet of Ranitidine and other prescribed antacid medication, which did not work. It became worse with medication. I have had an endoscopy, and ultrasound, which showed a hiatus hernia below my esophagus and an inflamed gallbladder but it was not affected enough to be taken out or to be the cause of my symptoms. The hospital doctor ordered a hiatus scan but my gastroenterologist has not replied back.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You seem to be having gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). I suggest you take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone for reflux. Also, you should take a soft and bland diet. You should also put a pillow below your head when you sleep. Make a habit to walk after all meals. More important here is to avoid alcohol and smoking in case you do. I would also suggest you take a soft and bland diet only. Always brush your teeth before you sleep. If you have any further queries, please ask me.

Thank you.
