Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I suffer from hypothyroidism for the past 10 years. Currently I am on a dose of 125 mcg Thyroxine. My recent blood test shows lower than normal TSH value. I have enclosed the report. Please suggest treatment and dosage change if required. Also, my vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels are low in the blood report. I got tested because of constant fatigue. Please suggest medicine and treatment for this as well.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the attached reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), it appears you are taking an overdose for hypothyroidism, and you need to decrease the dose slightly to correct it. I would suggest the following,

1) Tablet Levothyroxine 125 mcg six times weekly and tablet Levothyroxine 100 mcg once weekly.

2) Tablet Neurobion forte (vitamin B12, B1, and B6) twice daily for your low vitamin B level.

3) Tablet Vitamin D 50,000 lU once weekly for eight weeks.

You have some kind of infection that may be respiratory or urinary because you have slightly high WBC (white blood count) levels. I would advise you to get yourself checked by a local physician for any infection and take antibiotics if recommended by the physician.

I would advise you to repeat the thyroid function test after three months and get back for a review.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
