Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been managing iron deficiency anemia for around eight years. Although my hemoglobin level has stabilized, my iron levels are still low. I seek guidance on the most effective medication or supplements to boost my iron levels. Can you suggest any specific options or share insights into what might suit my situation? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and can understand your concern.

I suggest you check your serum ferritin levels. If the tests are normal, consume only iron-rich foods. Heme iron is found in meat, fish, and poultry and is easily absorbed by your body. Non-heme iron is found in eggs and plant-based foods such as beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and vegetables. If the iron levels are low, I suggest taking an iron supplement, like tablet Livogen XT 1 (Ferrous ascorbate which is equivalent to elemental iron 100 mg, folic acid IP, Zinc sulphate monohydrate which is equivalent to elemental Zinc 22.5 mg), once daily for one month. Consult your doctor and take the medicines.

I hope this helps.
