Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 43-year-old male. Since yesterday night after the evening shower, there was a lot of itching on my penis. Sometimes it happens. Still, this time the penis has swelling, and the tip of the shaft skin is also gone inside, but urination is passed freely. But due to swelling on the front side of the shaft tip, it is causing discomfort. I thought an ant or insect might have bitten. Can you please suggest?
Hi,
Welcome to iclniq.com.
Itching on the penis skin can have many causes. One possibility is insect bite, especially if developed suddenly. Others can be a fungal infection, but the fungal infection is due to sexual contact with an infected female who already has discharge and itching. Scabies is also possible, but scabies is not the only penis but will be at different places of the body like underarms, between fingers, and genitalia. Itching can cause discomfort and swelling. The best thing to do is to apply Hydrocortisone cream to relieve itching and swelling. Hydrocortisone cream 1% twice daily for five to seven days. I hope you will recover. In case it continues after five days. Please get back to me with pictures of your penis so that I can suggest a different treatment.
